Other Rare Tests

Rare tests are only completed in a diagnosis of ALS when the patient presents atypical symptoms. Rare tests for ALS include a bone marrow aspirate to detect cancer within the bones, or a DNA test can also be performed in cases when a familial history of ALS is suspected.
